The Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls, Hands-On (MECH) Workshop is the flagship initiative of STEM for Nevada, created to fill critical gaps in current STEM education across Clark County.
Over the course of six weeks, MECH Workshop students dive into open-source Arduino projects that connect classroom learning to real-world applications and career pathways. Each session is intended to spark meaningful conversations about the broader world of STEM while also teaching technical skills.
Designed specifically for 8th–12th grade students in the Clark County School District (CCSD), the MECH Workshop transforms complex STEM concepts into engaging, hands-on learning experiences. By making intimidating subjects approachable and fun, we help students build confidence, curiosity, and a genuine interest in science and engineering.
At the conclusion of MECH, students are equipped with beginner-level kits, empowering them to continue exploring and growing on their own. More than just a class, MECH is a launchpad, giving students the knowledge, resources, and inspiration to pursue their own path in STEM.
